Kate Norris’ current body of work pays homage to naturalists and illustrators from the sixteenth to nineteenth centuries. Her mixed media collages are made from ripping out of stock and vintage wallpaper, reconstructing the pieces in a new way, giving the subjects a new meaning with a modern sensibility. Her collages open up conversations about process, techniques, and symbolic associations.

Norris graduated with a BA from Stanford University and earned her MFA at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. She has exhibited her work in San Francisco, New York, Tampa, and Baltimore. Her work is in private collections nationally and abroad.
